More than a thousand students from our eight systemic Catholic secondary schools and one K-12 college completed their HSC this year, resulting in 347 students receiving top honors - 335 Distinguished Achievers, with a further five All-Round Achievers, six Top Achievers, and one First in Course.

Following the huge success of the 26th Annual CDF Sports Awards, the winning accolades continued for 17 student athletes from primary and secondary schools across the Diocese pf Wollongong, who received high level awards at the recent NSWCCC Blues Awards and NSWCPS Maroon Awards.

The school community of St John’s Catholic Primary School, Dapto, have been reunited on the same campus for the first time since 1983, thanks to the development of $9m worth of student-centred learning spaces. Students and staff were joined by the Hon Stephen Jones MP; Director of Schools, Peter Hill; and members of the school community when the Bishop of Wollongong, Most Rev Brian Mascord DD, visited the school on Tuesday 21 November 2023 to officially bless and open the facilities.

The community of St Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Primary School, Milton, gathered in celebration when the Bishop of Wollongong, Most Rev Brian Mascord DD, visited on Thursday 16 November 2023 to officially bless and open their new Outdoor Learning and Healing Space.The ReGROW, ReNEW, ReDISCOVER and ReUNITEproject, funded by the Australian Government, aims to help the school community heal from the effects of the devastating fires which ravaged the area in 2019-2020.

Outstanding student athletes from primary and secondary schools, who proudly represented the Diocese of Wollongong at MacKillop and NSW Combined Catholic College events throughout 2023, were celebrated at the 26th annual Catholic Development Fund (CDF) Sports Awards. The event was hosted by the Wollongong Diocesan Sports Council on Friday, 10 November.
